Digital Nomad Guide to Amsterdam π·π·π·
UPDATE : I added my pictures from my second trip to Amsterdam in October 2018 (first one was in March 2018) thatβs why you have a mix of early spring and fall pictures here π I also added some of my new favorite places as well. Give it a scroll through or read! Enjoy! πππ
UPDATE II : Also I added all the schools where I took Lambada and Brazilian Zouk classes. AAaaaaammazing dances and community. Give it a try if you can. ππ½
Ok without further ado, here we go:
Oh Amsterdam, you surprised me! I was mesmerized by your beauty, openness and future-thinking outlook. I thought I would like you, but I did not expect to fall head over heels in love with you from the get-go. β€οΈ
Your people, the sunsets on the canals and the upbeat and eclectic energy (work hard and play hard vibes! - where is the next party?), I loved it all. To prove this point I initially came for one week to attend a Lambada & Brazilian Zouk dance festival and I ended up staying for three. Ooooooppss.
For my own memories, I decided to compile my favorite places, so I have them handy for when I return:
MY FAVORITE CAFES AND RESTAURANTS (vegan and gluten-free)
Vegabond β All vegan cafe and a small grocery store with canal views. My favorite cozy hangout during my stay π
Rainbowls Amsterdam β prettiest smoothie bowls you can find! π
The Cold Pressed Juicery β I am still daydreaming β¨ about their raw caramel and matcha treats! All their items are amazing though.
Dignita β Amazing all-day brunch place with a few and excellent vegan picks. Two locations.
Mastino V β Gluten free and vegan pizza place with interesting toppings (SO GOOD! :))
Monks Coffee Roasters β My favorite cafe in Amsterdam West
Pllek - Cool restaurant/cafe/beach bar in NDSM. For this one you need to take the ferry from Amsterdam Centraal β΄οΈβ¨
Le Pain Quotidien β They are all around town and great for a quick bite, a coffee and a couple hours of work.
De Nieuwe Yoga School β Their cafe has terrific vegan (as well as raw vegan) food! Don't skip dessert!π You can also take a yoga class.
PLACES TO WORK FROM
The Hoxton β Hotel and lounge with a social club feel. Loved the vibe! Great for work as well as day meetings and dinners.
Merkspace Herengracht β My favorite coworking space in Amsterdam. β€οΈ
Zoku β Hotel & coworking space with a conscious focus.
Most cafes and restaurants have fast internet, so it was super easy to just stop about anywhere to get a couple hours of work done.
LAMBADA AND BRAZILIAN ZOUK CLASSES
Brazilian Zouk Amsterdam (BZA) Dance School β great for beginners, weekly socials on Sunday evening
Vibe Latina by Ruanita Santos β Ruantia is the queen π of technique and her classes reflect that. Highly recommend them!
Brazilian Dance Masters β Zouk Lambada by mestro Gilson Damasco and team ππΊ Nothing compares to that Lambada energy! π₯
GROCERY STORES
Ekoplaza β All organic super market chain. One of their locations (West Amsterdam) is plastic free! Yeah!
Marqt β Probably one of my favorite grocery stores ever! It is soooo well curated.
Both have several locations throughout the city.
SHOPS
Diabolo β Hunting for your next Burning Man/festival outfits, look no further! :)
Hay β Danish design store (home, kitchen, stationary etc.) that I adore!
SPA AND BEAUTY
Sauna Deco β Art Deco spa in the city center. So lovely! (esp in winter #dreamy)
Soap Treatment Store β One stop shop for beauty treatments.
